Pie-oneer Fundraiser: Heather Green

Heather Green, your friendly neighborhood history buff, is raising funds (and bracing for pie) to support the beloved Ham House. As someone who brings stories of the past to life every day, this fundraiser is personal for her.

“The story of Dubuque history is the story of all of us: from long-term residents to those newly arrived. We learn that we all share the same humanity. DCHS teaches us the stories of other people and the world around us. It reminds us that we share this earth with our neighbors and the animals around us. Throughout history, people have faced the same challenges and joys. At DCHS, we preserve both the past and the present in order to have a better future.”

Heather is proud to represent the River Museum team in this fun challenge. Your donation helps cover event costs and supports critical restoration efforts for this iconic 1850s home. “The Ice Cream Social is a free community event that brings people together to celebrate the holiday. The event offers historic demonstrations, music, ice cream and hands-on history activities for people of all ages. Knowing that people are having fun while they learn is the best part of the day. This year marks the 61st year of the event. Throughout the years, the day’s schedule might change, but the outcome to have fun and be a part of the community will never change.”
